Rowett News... New Group Head Office in St Austell Following continued expansion, Rowett Insurance Broking Group have moved their St Austell office from Alexandra Road, St Austell to brand new premises at St Austell Enterprise Park Since forming the business in 1985 local businessman, Glyn Rowett, has seen impressive growth in his insurance brokerage which now has offices in Plymouth and Truro in addition to the new head office in St Austell. With modern spacious offices, ample parking and a panoramic view of St Austell Bay, the new site is an exciting step forward for this well established business. This expansion has not dulled Glyn’s passion for the locality in which he and his business developed, he remains extremely proud of his local roots. Glyn is a familiar face on the local golf and football scene and Rowett Insurance continue to sponsor a number of local events and initiatives. Rowett Insurance have this week been joined by Steve Maltby as Sales Manager. Steve has worked in the industry for 37 years as a Business Manager for a major insurer, more recently based in the Westcountry, and is looking forward to working in St Austell. Glyn comments: We have experienced, knowledgeable, reliable people within our business who are committed to providing tailored insurance and risk management solutions to our customers whether they be personal insurances or commercial. We had outgrown our offices in Alexandra Road and our plans for expansion made the move to larger premises a priority for our business. New Appointment of Sales Manager Rowett Insurance Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Maltby as Sales Manager. Steve will be responsible for all aspects of the Rowett Group Commercial operation. Having worked for a leading UK Insurer in a variety of managerial and sales roles for 37 years, Steve brings a wealth of experience to the business. He is well known in Devon & Cornwall having worked in the area for the last 15 years. Steve is a past President of The Insurance Institute of Plymouth. Steve says: Rowett Insurance Broking Group is one of an ever decreasing number of Insurance professionals who can truly describe themselves as independent Brokers. The majority of benefits are linked to clients' motor or household policies, however membership also provides valuable additional benefits for most types of legal issue. The experienced staff at Evolution Legal will offer practical advice and assistance to bring claims, recover uninsured losses, handle disputes, and a number of other related aspects. The Evolution Legal cover is available to all motor and household policyholders (at the start or renewal date of the policy) for an annual fee of £12.50.

Rowett Insurance Group are the Regional Final Champions for the South West in the category of Businesses awarded in recognition of outstanding innovation in using ADSL Broadband. We have also been shortlisted for the National Awards to be held in London on Friday 12th September to celebrate the pioneers of ADSL broadband. This unique challenge, supported by BT Wholesale, UKonline and academy seeks to highlight the innovative uses made of ADSL Broadband.
Glyn received the trophy on behalf of the Group which was presented by Paul Ross and Phillipa Forester on fun packed evening recognising varying categories.
Rowett Insurance pledge £5,000 to help Carn Brea whom have recently been selected from over 200 Centres nation-wide to receive a grant of £27,683 provided by the English Federation of Disability Sport, in association with Sport England, to develop their facilities for the Disabled. The Centre was closed in November 1999 and Lynn Butler, Head Receptionist at the time, acted as catalyst to a small group of users and staff who formed an action committee to fight the closure. The action group led to the development of a charitable company who now holds a 99 year lease on the building. Carn Brea reopened on 21st February 2000 and had just £250 in the till raised by the over 50's Badminton group and represented the total funds of the company. The staff worked unpaid for the first 14 days of trading. The reopening received overwhelming support from the public and the media and initiated a remarkable achievement for the Centre and for the area. The Rowett Group is pleased to help take the centre to the next level and wish Lynn, Damion, members of staff and the Board of Trustees congratulations on their fantastic achievement in providing leisure facilities for all the community.
