Matthew Nile appointed as Director
25 years ago local boy, Glyn Rowett, took the brave step to ‘go it alone’ and set up an Insurance Brokerage from a small office in St Austell with only one employee but an abundance of ambition.
The business has expanded year on year, opening an office in Plymouth, moving to new premises in St Austell and it is now the largest fully independent Insurance Brokerage in Cornwall.
The ambition remains and with an eye to the future Rowett Insurance Broking Ltd now has a new Director. Matt Nile has worked for the Insurance Broker for 15 years having being educated at St Austell Comprehensive School and gaining his BSc Hons Degree at Bath University. Matt is well known locally and he has a wealth of insurance experience which has been invaluable to both the business and client’s alike.

Rowett Insurance Welcomes New Members of Staff
Rowett Insurance Broking Ltd has celebrated their 25th anniversary, formed in 1985 by Glyn Rowett, we are extremely proud to be one of the ever reducing number of insurance brokers who have retained their independence.
The business has ambitious expansion plans and appreciates that these plans can only be achieved by employing the very best people. Rowett Insurance understands the importance of continual professional development, ensuring that their team is well trained and developed to enable them to respond to the increasingly sophisticated insurance requirement of their customers.
As an integral part of the planned expansion of the business we are pleased to announce the appointment of two new members of staff:
Wendy Rowe – Account Executive:
Wendy lives in St Austell and joined us in June 2011. Wendy brings a wealth of expertise to the business, having worked in Cornwall for NFU Mutual for over 10 years as a Branch Manager.
Her specialism is Farming and Agriculture, an area where Rowett Insurance already has considerable expertise and an extensive client base. Wendy is keen to expand our farm related business and to take on this challenge. Wendy is customer focussed and believes in giving a service which excels to our client’s, she will be based at our St Austell Branch.
Adele Bailey – Account Executive:
Adele joined us in August 2011 and will be based at our St Austell office. Adele has over 15 years experience in the insurance industry, gained as a Commercial Insurance Underwriter with a leading UK insurer and more recently as an Commercial Account Executive with an Insurance Broker.
Her time with a leading insurer and the training and development received whilst employed as an underwriter has equipped her extremely well to deal with the, often complex, insurance needs of our commercial client’s.
Continued Professional Development Programme:
We appreciate the need for the continual professional development of our staff to enable them to be adequately equipped to meet the ever changing insurance and risk management needs of our clients.
Staff at all levels are receiving monthly on line CBT training and testing as part of our Continued Professional Development programme. The CBT training compliments the examination programme operated by the Chartered Insurance Institute and ensures that staff who are already CII qualified maintain and improve on their level of insurance knowledge
